Mean Mama provides film fixer and production support across Southeast Asia for international films, TV series, documentaries, commercials and unscripted productions. We’re based in Bangkok and run shoots across Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka, with one producer responsible for the production from first recce to wrap.

WHAT WE HANDLE ON THE GROUND
We take care of the practical side of filming in Southeast Asia: production budgets, filming permits, location scouting, local crew, casting, equipment, transport, accommodation, customs support, local authorities, contributors and day-to-day production logistics. If you already have a director, DP and core team travelling with you, we build everything they need locally. If you need a larger production setup, we can scale from fixer support into full line production.
LOCATIONS BEFORE LOGISTICS
Tell us what the script needs before you tell us where you think you should shoot it. A rooftop, tropical island, colonial street, jungle, luxury villa or anonymous international city can often be found in several Southeast Asian countries — but the production cost, permit difficulty and travel logistics may be very different. We can compare options and tell you which country makes the most sense for the scene as well as the budget.
LOCAL CREWS WE WOULD PUT ON OUR OWN SETS
A cheap crew is expensive the moment you lose a shooting day. We source experienced local film crews across Southeast Asia and build departments around the level of production you are bringing in. Tell us which HODs will travel and we’ll advise which positions make sense to hire locally, what equipment is available in-country and what is genuinely worth flying in.
ACCESS, PERMITS & THE THINGS GOOGLE CAN’T ARRANGE
Some shoots need more than a location pin. Government buildings, protected areas, temples, airports, remote communities, boats, drones, roads and sensitive documentary access all require different conversations. We handle the local research and approvals early, tell you what is realistic, and flag the things that can wreck the schedule before they become tomorrow morning’s problem.
